Polistyrene (PS)

Polystyrene is produced by means of styrene monomer polimerization. Polystyrene is an economic thermoplastics which has easy processing, good optical and gloss properties, also good dimensional stability. It's odorless, lower water absorpsion, tough, tranparent like glass, glossy, capable easy coloring thermoplastic. Polystyrene is resistant to acids, alkalis, oils and salt solutions. Polystyrene is a highly flammable polymer, it's burning with a sparkling flame, own odor and smut. By adding syntetic rubber, it becomes a high impact properties.  Polistyrene classified by processing methods ; Anti shock (HIPS – High Impact Poly Styrene), Cristal clear (GPPS – General Purpose Poly Styrene) and foam (EPS- Expanded Poly Styrene).
