PVC ( Polivinyl Chloride)
PVC, well known (Poli Vinyl cloride) is produced in petrochemical plants with starting material vinyl chloride monomer polymerization, mainly salt and etilen raw materials.At second stage, This polymer become a thermoplastics with processing various additives and plastisizers in hot conditions then convert into usable plastic. PVC, is an uniq polymer which bearing cloride monomer within polymer chain. As it contain cloride it's flash point is highly up. It's self extinguished when the fire goes away.. PVC easyl decompose at higher temperature and gives toxic and corrosive gases. PVC can be mixed with more and much quantity of additives comparing with other polymers. That is why it's cost reasonably lower and very suitable for general applications. PVC is chemically resistant to acids, salts, bases, fats and alcohols, making it resistant to corrosive effects of sewage. Hence, it is so extensively utilized in sewer piping systems. It's most consuming polymer after PE & PP in the world.
Characteristics;
• Chemical resistance
• Resistance to acids and alkali
• Good resistance to weathering conditions
• Resistance to fire,
• Lightweight
• Low cost
Applications;
Construction ( most consumer segment), door/window profiles, building materials, plates, sewer pipes, flooring, roof isolation, electric cables, multipurpose bottles, raincoat, gloves, CD and computer cases, toys.
