PP (Polypropylene)

Polypropylene is one of the polyolefin family thermoplastic. Polypropylene grades mainly classifield by homopolymer PP, Random Copolymer PP (improved clarity) and Impact Copolymer PP (better impact resistance) and other special grades. Polypropylene easily produced to use in specific applications by means of compounding with glass fibre , talc or others.

Homo polymer PP  (Isotactic)
 
It's produced with propylene monomer and catalist in a single reactor. Homopolymers is characterised by high isotactic index, having higher melting point. It has good chemical resistance against inorganic acids, alkalis and salts. Additionally, homopolymers provides high ESCR (enviromental stress crack resistance) when expose with  alcohols, esters, detergant and polar hydrocarbons. Homo PP is an ideal polymer for high heat resistance applications, like hot filling or vapor sterilization.

Impact Copolymer PP (heterophasic copolymer)
 
Two reactors need to produce. When first reaction ends, polymerization prosess going on  with etylene to create EPR. Second stage of polymerization provides impact  resistance against to cold and hot weather conditions. Impact copolymer has tough/stiff and high tensile strength properties.  
 
Characeristic properties ;
 
•  High stiffnes and impact strength balance even at lower temperatures.
•  High stiffness and hardness
•  High mechanical properties
•  Good and easy processing conditions.
 
Applications
 
Pails & bucket, boxes, crates, furniture parts, otomotive parts, containers, plastic products for outdoor usage, toys, machinery parts.
 
Random Copolymer PP ( homophasic copolymer)
 
Random PPC has been producing by one single reactor process with adding less than 5% ethylene, aiming to gain high clarity and transparency. It's most flexiable grades among 3 type of PP, it has also better weathering properties comparing with homopolymer.  
 
Characteristics;
 
•  Very good clarity and tranparency
•  Higher mechanical properties
•  Best balance between hardness, stifness and optical properties. 
•  Good optical appearance
•  Easy processing
 
Applications
 
Clear containers, shrink films, food packaging, texstile packing, sealing layers, home appliances, buckets, closures, protective containers, fine packing and consumer goods.
